AcousticAnd. And? And what?!?
Growing up in South Wales, the name Andrew is frequently is shortened to ‘And’ not Andy. That’s what seems most natural to my ears but I’ll generally respond to anything which has a tone of good intention!

I grew up immersed in music. My family members playing in brass bands and singing in choirs; the radio playing pop and classical; TV themes and film soundtracks. I listened to it all. So, when I’m asked to talk about my influences, I feel the need to respond with ‘Everything!’. I am still fascinated by new artists and new sounds.
Learning to play guitar at 16, I was probably a late starter. I went along the time-honoured route of school and college bands before gaining some solo experience in local folk clubs. There was a short spell in an acoustic duo and also as guitarist in a gigging band before ‘real life’ got in the way. However, I continued to absorb influences and write songs.

Delivering kazoos to the neighbours for one of our 'lockdown street gigs'
Then in 2020 an unexpected opportunity - a worldwide pandemic and lockdowns! Would I play a ‘gig’ for the neighbours in my street? Yes! So, 13 live-streamed ’street-gigs’ later, I had learned 300 songs and had thousands of views. Requests from viewers helped me not only to revisit and rearrange old favourites but also to explore new territories. It rekindled my love of performance and a deeper appreciation of the craft of songwriting.
Pick a genre or a decade and I will probably know some classics or even rarities.

For the past 18 months, I have been performing in open-mics, weddings, festivals and private parties.
Why? I love sharing my love of music. I love how it connects people - with me, with each other, with memories, with emotions. To be able to do that with just an acoustic guitar and my voice is both a pleasure and a privilege.
Fast-forward to the end of 2025 and into 2026, I'm looking forward to continuing to play my original songs and acoustic covers to both new and familiar audiences in a variety of venues and via online streaming platforms!
